Harpe Brings Three Decades of Diversified Tax Experience to Firm
Matthews, Carter & Boyce (MCB), a leading accounting firm in the Washington, DC metro area, is pleased to welcome CPA Richard W. Harpe, who has joined as a firm Principal. Harpe’s expertise is in Tax Planning and Compliance, serving high net worth individuals and closely held businesses, as well as trusts and estates. His extensive knowledge of complex tax issues is honed from more than three decades of experience in highly-complex tax consulting and compliance engagements.

Prior to joining MCB, Harpe was a Private Client Services Tax Senior Director at BDO and served as a Partner at Argy, Wiltse & Robinson, P.C. He began his career with a local CPA firm, where he spent 15 years working his way up from staff accountant to shareholder. During that time, he prepared and reviewed individual, trust, estate, corporate and partnership income tax returns.
Harpe’s professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a Board Member of the Fairfax County Park Foundation and earned a “Door Opener” Award from The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from The Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
