SBA Offers Online Tool for Building a Business Plan

Dec 31, 2012 | Closely Held Business

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has launched an online tool to help small business owners create business plans. The new tool, Build Your Business Plan, guides the small business owner through the process of creating a basic business plan. Users can build a business plan in stages, save it, and return to it later.

To access the tool, users first need to join the SBA Community and then log in. The tab-based step-by-step guide allows small business owners to input information into a template for each section of the business plan, including market analysis, company description, and financial projections.

The tool is secure and confidential. The business plan will be kept for up to six months. Users can save, download, or email the plan at any time.
