New Website Warns Small Business Owners of Coming Regulations

Regulations

The U.S. House of Representatives Small Business Committee has unveiled its Small Biz Reg Watch website. The website highlights federal rule-making initiatives that could affect small businesses and provides links so business owners can read and comment on the proposals.

The Small Business Administration has reported that complying with regulations is often more expensive for small businesses than larger companies. The goal of the website is to increase awareness among small businesses and provide a way for small business owners to express their concerns before a rule is finalized.

The website debuted with six new rules, including two that are a result of the Affordable Care Act and two from the Environmental Protection Agency. As comment periods for new rules open, the committee will notify business owners through email and social media tools.
