MCB 2016 Holiday Donation #GivingTuesday

MCB is proud to announce that the firm will make a holiday donation totaling $5,000 to five not-for-profit clients on #GivingTuesday, chosen and voted on by its staff. The following not-for-profit clients will each receive a $1,000 holiday donation towards their cause and mission:

  1. National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship
NCCS’s mission is to advocate for quality cancer care for all people touched by cancer.  Founded by and for cancer survivors, NCCS created the widely accepted definition of survivorship and defines someone as a cancer survivor from the time of diagnosis and for the balance of life.
  2. Children’s Cause for Cancer Advocacy
The Children’s Cause for Cancer Advocacy (CCCA) is the leading national advocacy organization working to achieve access to less toxic and more effective pediatric cancer therapies; to expand resources for research and specialized care; and to address the unique needs and challenges of childhood cancer survivors and their families.
  3. Washington Animal Rescue League
The Washington Animal Rescue League is the oldest animal shelter in the District of Columbia. Its mission continues to evolve as conditions change and animals face new and different challenges, but the core of that mission remains unchanged: to honor and strengthen the human-animal bond by providing the best quality care for homeless dogs and cats, and supporting companion animals in their homes through affordable veterinary care, community outreach, and education.
  4. Trust for America’s Health
Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to saving lives by protecting the health of every community and working to make disease prevention a national priority.
  5. Infant/Toddler Family Day Care of Northern Virginia
Infant Toddler Family Day Care (ITFDC) has been a trusted early child care and education resource for families in the Washington Metropolitan area since 1983. Since our inception we have worked to connect families with professional early child care educators who operate high quality family child care homes.

In the spirit of the holiday season and giving back, the winners were chosen by anonymous vote by our very own employees in support of the organizations that meant the most to them. Our firm has a strong culture of corporate philanthropy and is passionate about giving back both in time and money to our community at-large.

This is the second year that our firm has participated in #GivingTuesday, which is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and kicks off the charitable giving season. Since it’s inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
